A North Carolina native, Jessica Fowler fell in love with storytelling from a young age, from writing ghost stories in historic cemeteries, devouring gritty YA novels faster than she could buy them, and watching every indie movie she could get her hands on. After earning degrees in Creative Writing and Film Studies from NC State University, she began writing romantic comedies inspired by her favorite vacations.
Jessica lives in Raleigh with her two supervillain dogs, her bio-chemist partner, and an exorbitant amount of leather jackets. When she’s not shooting weddings for her photography business, Three Region, she’s probably sipping a mocktail at one of her favorite dive bars or hanging at the library.
What’s The Worst That Could Happen?
After a bad review and a friendship breakup, MIRA had one rule for her wedding photography business: never shoot a friend’s wedding. But when she wakes up in her favorite bartender's apartment only to discover evidence that he is in a long-term relationship, Mira is desperate for an escape. So when her college roommate reaches out in need of a last-minute photographer for her wedding, Mira quickly agrees. Because there's no way things could go as badly as they did last time, right?
HUDSON had a plan: get through his step-brother’s wedding, move his ex-girlfriend out of his apartment, and then ask Mira out on an official date. But after one too many during his closing shift, Mira ended up in his bed and the plan went out the window. After hearing her sneak out in the morning, he’s worried that he’s ruined things between them until he arrives in Wyoming only to discover Mira is working the wedding. As his hopes for defining their relationship rise - so does his fear that his ex will ruin it all.
An unexpected heat wave, a rafting disaster, and a run-in with bears are nothing compared to the fact that Mira, Hudson, and his ex are forced to share a room for the entirety of the four-day weekend. Pushed together at every turn, Mira and Hudson must navigate their feelings for each other, admit secrets they’ve been keeping, and learn to stand up for themselves if they have a shot at committing to each other.
